No, THE BICYCLE THIEF is about social inequity, the desperate, trapped life of the poor and the government's inability to acclimate its citizens to life after the war. Yes, the PLOT is about a man whose bike is stolen, but that's not what it's ABOUT.

PEE WEE is about leaving your saftey zone and exploring the world around you--Pee Wee just needed a boot in the rear to get him out of his obsessive-compulsive rut.

That being said, THIEF is probably the better film, but I like PEE WEE more.
