TNT Presents "West Side Story" - Tickets Now Onsale!

Tisch New Theatre, a completely student run theatre company associated with NYU, is celebrating its fifth year anniversary by producing a fresh tale of the timeless musical, West Side Story. This revitalization of the well-known story sets the Sharks against the Jets in a new depiction of New York City - a New York City under reconstruction. They fight for more than their pride; now their homes and their histories are threatened to be forever changed and shifted by Manhattan's race to the skies.

While film, television, and theatre do not always show the mirror image of society, it does present the harshest of truths to us, even when we seek these mediums to escape them in the first place. We have one simple goal in mind: to show the world that even though 1961 has come and gone, Maria and Tony are still looking for “Somewhere”: that they have yet to find a place where they can be together.
We do not live in a world where anyone can love whomever they want, regardless of race, gender, or sexuality. We do not live in a world where peace trumps violence. We do not live in a world where friendship supersedes rivalries. We don’t live in that world… yet. But we can.
