Okay, my cousin and I were discussing this and cannot for our lives figure this out.
Does anyone know why, when the opening credits on some TV shows roll and the names of the actors are displayed, they will randomly say one actor's name and character name too? Like Jason Alexander as George, for example.
Well, if anyone has a guess, drop a line

Because that person has a very good agent.
Usually I think it's done because the person has a bigger career than the other people that are listed, except the star. They set the name apart in some way because they're well known, but not the star. I think it's the same thing as in a Broadway show when they say "And Joel Grey as the Wizard".
...and Jerry Mathers as The Beaver.
