Just picture a really horrible production of RENT where Angel is genetically female and where Joanne and Maureen are sisters. (Not as in, "Hey mister, she's my sister.") Sing Take Me Or Leave Me, but plug the word "sister" in for every "baby," "girl," "love," and random other lines to cover up anything that eludes to the fact that this is not a song about sibling rivalry. But wait...that's only for Maureen's lines. When Joanne pipes in she goofs up and sings the regular lyrics until they sing together. Then it goes back to "sisters."

It was horrid and I would assume very illegal, but it didn't look professional enough to even be a high school production.

Sounds pretty bad, they probably did it in a church or something along those lines. Why they didn't simply pick something different instead of messing up this show is beyond me though.

Why on earth would you choose RENT to perform in a place where you have to censor it? They left the fact that the characters had AIDS in. I am wondering if they all got it from transfusions.

Maybe they put a part in that they were gay, but changed their sinfull "lifestyle" after they were punished by God with Aids. Would be something straight out of the 700 Club
