Ah, Camper Van Beethoven. One of my favorite bands of my high school years. A new best-of has been released and has sent yr buddy Borstal off on a nostalgia cloud.

I know they weren't the most high-profile bands, but is anyone else a fan??

i had a dream i wanted to lick your knees...

love 'em borstal! i never saw camper van beethoven, but i did see cracker in '92 at a bar in youngstown, oh. they played take the skinheads bowling after i got the entire crowd of about 250 people chanting, "skinheads." in the midst of which, several of my skinhead friends began a counter-chant of, "what?" we did shots after the show. nice bunch.

Defending Camper for selling out and releasing Beloved Revolutionary Sweetheart on Virgin is one of the fonder memories of my record career. I hope they were able to buy many many beers.
