Talent: Born with or Grows

Even though some may be born with talent, I definitely want to acknowledge that they too have to work on it!
I've seen so many young people with talent try to sail, and they can for a little while, but eventually those hard-working underdogs will surprass them if they don't stay on top of their game.
Even the most incredible talents need to train.

In high school I got sick to my stomach at the thought of even giving a speech in front of people.
By college I was a little better and a friend talked me into doing theater when I was 21.
Now, ten years after that I'm suddenly 'a natural in front of a crowd.'
I had an undeveloped gift for a long time. Even when I was performing it took me a long time to get to a point where I was at ease in front of people.
And I wouldn't have gotten anywhere if I didn't work.
The most successful people work the hardest. People on the outside like to assume otherwise to make themselves feel better but, nine times out of ten, the 'naturals' and the biggest stars spent the most time learning how to be the best, instead of just coasting on their god-given skills.
Is there luck involved? Sure. That can be frustrating. But you don't get lucky if you can't carry the ball when it's given to you. Maybe you'll get lucky ONCE. Then you either produce or you don't.
You wanna be the best? Work harder than everyone else.
