Attended a Will and Grace taping tonight in LA for a show that is estimated for airing in 5-7 weeks.
Major spoilers follow....
Apparently, Taye's character was introduced in the episode taped just before this one. He plays a gay Canadian guy set to marry an American woman so he can become a US citizen. Will and him meet first in the earlier episode, and then they run into each other again in LA, where Will, Grace, Karen, Jack and his son are vacationing. Will and Taye's character grow closer during this hour long show, but their courtship is cut short when Taye's fiance cancels the wedding. Grace steps up to the plate and proposes marriage to Taye...which leads to a MAJOR kiss between Will and Taye that closes the show! Looks to me like Will may be riding off into the sunset with Taye Diggs as the show ends this season (although they're still taping until April).
This was one of their funnier episodes IMO with lots of rewrites happening scene to scene.

I've always wondered what a taping was like. Could you describe it for us?
Yeah, it looks to me, too, that they might end up together. That was a very nice kiss, too. Made me smile. =)
That would be adorable if they ended up together. :)
Oh my God!!! And they got "married"!!
Well I know Taye and Grace get married so he can stay in the US but Will and Taye would be adorable.
It seems a little too late to bring someone new in to end up with Grace, but maybe they could use someone old, Like with Carrie and Mr. Big.
Although, I suppose that was different because Carrie had dated him and kept a frienship with him in every season.

Hi boxers..in answer to your question, first of all, we got there at 2 for a 5 o'clock taping. Public tickets are standby so if theres a lot of VIPS they get in first. We managed to get in but barely. Its filmed at CBS Studios in Studio City...(as is Passions btw).
The taping started at 5 and didnt get over until around 9ish..Ive heard some tapings take up to 10 hours! I was surprised at the number of times the cast flubbed up. The kid who played Jacks son, flubbed up quite a bit, but everyone did. They either forget their lines or screw them up. I didnt see any scenes redone because the acting wasnt up to par. Depending on where they screw up, they either reshoot the entire scene or from the time of the problem. Once they get a scene right, the producers, directors and writers get together and determine if they need to make any changes. The audience can see all of this happening, but cant hear what theyre saying. The writers do usually change a few lines and then they reshoot the entire scene. One example was where Jack named the title of the book...they changed that but wound up using the first take.
There were three sets...the hotel lobby...pool area..just a platform, and a bedroom which doubled as both Wills bedroom and jack and his kid (they just moved the bed from one wall to the other and changing the bedding). Everything is filmed in order. There is a somebody in the audience who gets the audience cheering and theres prizes of tshirts and caps for those who are the best laughers/cheerers.
Friends of mine went to a taping last week, which was the wedding episode, but theres a twist at the end they said and they wouldnt tell me...That shoot took 5 hours btw.

Did anyone watch tonight's episode? Our cable was down so I missed it. Thanks!
Pretty sure it was a repeat of the one where Jack meets Cher and she slaps him.

Thanks. I think that was on at 8 and a new one was supposed to air at 8:30. My Replay could be wrong though (I hope it was!).
Eek! Really?? Let me go double-check our listings. (The Pacific airing should be in an hour then.)
Oh OK, the 8:30 airing is also a repeat...I think it's the one where Grace's boob leaks.
All of NBC's comedy line-up tonight was re-runs, which didn't jibe at all with TV Guide.
Lame.
CBS is all-new though, so hooray for CSI and Without A Trace!
We were supposed to see a new episode with Grace telling Leo she is pregnant. They showed two re-runs instead which I saw 20 times. I was disappointed.

Somehow Leo is going to figure into the wrap up of the series. Connick is going to miss a few PAJAMA GAME performances to tape three episodes of WILL AND GRACE.
Oh God, I hope he and Grace don't get back together.
Isn't it supposed to be his baby though?
Sorry for the threadjack...Does anyone know when Harry Connick, Jr. is going to be leaving to tape those episodes? I'd imagine there may be a bunch of cancelations and it would be my only shot to catch The Pajama Game, and since I don't really like him, it wouldn't be that much of a pisser for me missing him.
Thanks!

I *think* that Leo is engaged to someone, only because on the NBC website when they had the supposed new episode listed it mentioned that Leo had some shocking surprise, or something along those lines. He is probably engaged, but will end up with Grace by the end.
Threadjack:
When the Cher doll came out, my friend bought one for me. We took her out to eat with us and asked for a table for five in the back (so no one would stare at Cher.) They gave us a table for four, but it was in the back and Cher was happy to sit in the corner. The hostess and every server in the place, except for ours, thought it was hysterical. Our server was a bitch. Some came over to ask for her autograph. The manager (he was obviously family) brought us a free appetizer for Cher. Man, that was so funny.

Did anyone watch Taye's last episode today?
I was completely disappointed. I posted this on the main board already, but basically I don't see why they (FINALLY!) set him up as being Will's dream guy and potential long-term partner, just to make him do a complete 180 and become an unlikeable douchebag. If this is all build up for Jack and Will to end up together in the last episode, it'll officially be the worst TV sitcom ending ever. (In my humble opinion.)
