Tech Support: Google Thumbnails *update*

I know we have some very tech savy folk on the board so I'm throwing this out to them.

About a week a go I finally went wireless ( yes, I know I'm a dinosaur!)

Everything was fine, then this morning  my Google home screen thumbnails  suddenly all vanished. I've  tried rebooting looking for extensions but the ones I've looked at are not the same, it was just the simple Google thumbnails- never really needed more-( the speeddial extensions r all too busy) I've tried clearing the history and am wondering if I'm going to have to uninstall Google Chrome and reinstall which will of course  mean re-entering all my passwords  etc which I was hoping to avoid. 

Any suggestions for a fix?

SO more problems- i still can't get thumbnails but had booked marked pages so that work around was ok. Now I can't get you tube videos  so uninstalled and reinstalled chrome still can't get you tube ( needed video to see how to clean print heads) But I can when I use Explorer . Also seems a bit slower to ( have run Malwarebytes and Macafee scans all clean now) I can't figure out what is going on - only real change had been moving to the wireless- That can't be it can it?

Reely confused.

Any body have suggestions?
