Chita - your work as a flight attendent is indeed one of the most demanding customer service jobs. I think this would go far in helping you land some temp work, especially receptionist work. Good luck!
As someone who has worked every sort of job under the sun with a temp agency, you can get a job with them. They'll "hire" you on the basis of your resume, bring you in for the tests, and then assess what kind of job you can work based on that. Depending upon the agency and the company, you might have to take specific tests for specific jobs. You'll conceivably find work from $12-45 an hour (My BF, as a graphic designer, always makes the top range when he temps). I got a ridiculously stupid job in a file room once, doing next to nothing, for $20. It's always unknown what a company will pay (this was insurance, they are surprisingly unskimpy on their temp rates).
Anyway, best of luck and, like Jaily said, a lot of temp agencies will give you free tutorials anytime you want them and, when you've taken them, they'll allow you to retake their assessment tests.
