I saw some of the film recently, and was occasionally amused. I do love Jack Black's depiction of Ultimate Fandom. The moment when he furiously refers to his ex-partner as a "non-rocker!" had me helpless.
But too much of the movie came off like that Kids In The Hall sketch about the garage band member challenging Satan to a guitar duel, just extended beyond breaking point.
