Hell to the No.
I've read that and the Mayor of Casterbridge, and thought both of them were very boring. I didn't hate it, but it wasn't my cup of tea.
I do wish your voice teacher success though. How much does she/he have completed?

Beautiful novel. I've read it probably six times now. My favourite Hardy by far.
MFL - I'm interested that your voice teacher is writing a musical based on this. A musical of the story opened in London a few years ago after a short tour. It ran for a very short time.

Posted: 7/16/06 at 11:43amThe Mayor of Casterbridge was ok, but I haven't gotten around to reading Tess yet. My ex-boyfriend reads Thomas Hardy when he gets depressed...I guess it shows him that things could always be worse.
