I picked up an empathy belly at our local high school to use in a play I am in. I play a young woman who is pregnant and goes into labour in the first act having the baby by the conclusion of the play. This thing is sooooooooooo heavy. The teacher who lent it to us tried to take the weights out but no go. I certainly don't recall it hurting that much on back and shoulders being pregnant. I know being full term isn't comfortable for most, but this seems a little much. I thought it would be a piece of cake, but now I know why it comes with a back support strap. I am wondering if they are really trying to scare students. I like this idea too for expectant fathers. I loved being pregnant and had no trouble but for some women they want everyone who thinks it may be easy peasy lemon squeezy to try this thing. I think it is unrealistic.
I would think, if it is a full term belly that a woman's body has nine months for the needed muscles to develop to carry the weight. It is not like she gets the weight put on all at once
