The "Game" Threads

To allow us to keep the message board an enjoyable experience for everyone we have to temporarily limit the number of game threads on OT Board. There are currently have 10 games threads on the fisrt page of OT board. Because of the number of choices within each game, and because of the 12-hour time limit on voting, these threads can probably exist for weeks to come.

Therefore, game threads created after 6:00am NY Time, today, 10/16, are being temporarily locked.

Please refrain from creating any further game threads until at least half of the current ones have run their course.

The game threads are fun for those who participate, but not everyone does. The OT Board should not be overrun by these very similar game threads. There is the possibility that we can create a Game Board, similar to the other "boards" on the site, and that all game threads can be posted there without impacting other OT threads. I'll explore that with Rob.

Smart move, maybe to help these games move along a bit quicker change the rules to every 6 hours?

I think people will soon lose interest in the game threads. Sure, they're fun. But they're not really deserving of their own board.

What ever happened to the discussion of an "appreciation thread" board?

Sometimes the rules for thse "games" are so vague that I can't figure them out. Hence, I don't bother to play.

Well btw, my Lion King one is only 4 every 4 hours.

I don't see the point in making it every 12 hours, other than making it take way too long to finish.

Oh crud I'm the one who started the whole game phenomenon on this site. I started with an into the woods game that lasted a long time but you could only vote once per day unlike all the other games that I didn't create. I hope you guys don't ban me from this site or something *looks around nervously*.
