so what has me confused is that when Mildred's partner was a woman, he was a lesbian? So he liked women. But now that he's a man, he likes men?
My friend, born Molly, was a very butch little lesbian (quite adorable) until she began transitioning to a boy (named Dakota... really) and then discovered he was actually attracted to men.
Same happened to Moira/Max on The L Word. He boned Alan Cumming right up against the bar!
If Namo has never vented on BWW, I tremble for the day he does.
I think the sexuality switching being mentioned here has to do with bisexuality and/or the confusion experienced when a person realizes they are trans.
Yes, it's complex and may not make sense to some people, but I hope we can all have a live and let live mindset about it. I definitely don't see the need to take a stand against.
This is a time when we need everyone to work together to fight for equality. We can't afford to be exclusive of those who don't meet our approval of what's acceptable.
AHH yer all jest a bunch o' heterosexists!

I think it's because socially and hate crime wise, they are in the same boat much of the time. Trans women get called fag. Drag queens (trans or not) are in our community.
And ultimately, the issues facing both sexuality and sexual identity deal with our world's obsession with gender. "How dare a person not be the gender they were born with and/or date the opposite sex? How dare a man be fem in anyway or a woman do what a man is supposed to?"
