I didn't see the full segment and I am sure it was very emotional. However, I find it hilarious! I've watched this numerous times today and it gets better each time.

How nice you can get a good laugh out of someone elses torment.
I'm not a very nice person. Thought everyone knew that."Being a Crappy Bitch is Part of My Charm."
Didn't find it funny in the least. There is raw, uncensored emotion being expressed. The pain is very real. I am sort of angry that this was considered entertaining enough to post on Youtube.
Raw uncensored emotion they decided to have televised for a reality show for all to see. When it comes to reality shows,I question how much is real and how much is performing. If I witnessed this in private my feelings would be different.I see things very different when people exploit themselves. Like I said,I did not see the full segment and just thought it was over the top. Just my opinion.
With reality shows like Intervention, I think most times Producers exploit unknowing participants. Having been through an intervention myself one is not prepared for the feelings that arise during them.
The subjects might be exploiting themselves so people can see them on the Tee Vee but are totally unaware of what they are really in for which is further exploited by the show's producers for ratings.
SNAFU,if I offended you then I apologize. I did not even know what this show was from. I just saw the short clip and my first reaction was to laugh.
I can see how if you didn't know the background it might be seen as funny. Having seen the show several times, I think it's really sad and emotional.
"I did not even know what this show was from. I just saw the short clip and my first reaction was to laugh."
I've never seen the show, but I do know what it is, and there's nothing funny about it.
It says right on the description what show it's from. INTERVENTION. Doesn't that ring SOME bells? Hell, even if you never heard of the show, the title alone would stop me from laughing at it.
These people are on this show to try and make their lives better. How sad some people think this is something to laugh at.
I don't watch reality TV and if I did read the description,I missed the name of the show. I found it funny.Period.You did not. Fine.Spare me the lecture. You are entitled to your opinion I am entitled to mine.
These people I assume are getting paid. They are exploiting themselves. If they want to be reality stars over night then then they have to get use to attention. I did not say anything horrible or personal about them. Nothing cruel or nasty.I just found the crying bit over the top and it surprised me.I do question the motives and sincerity of those who have themselves filmed for a reality show.If it was real, then good for them. They are dealing with some issues and getting some money and exposure form the producers and network.Great.However, to comment or cry or laugh or roll our eyes at the show is what they signed up for. Everyone has an opinion.
Romantico, you didn't offend me in the least. The clip did. I can see where people would find it humorous taken out of context, however, I knew from the moment I clicked the play button where it was from and what was going on and didn't find it so.
I am not sure how these people are chosen for the show. I believe either relatives of the addicted person contacts them or the producers go Phishing for them at hospitals or drug treatment centers. If it is relatives, I can sort of understand that this might be a very last resort to get the message through to the person destroying themselves with drugs or alcohol. It may be a misguided attempt seeing that their struggles wind up as entertainment or if it works for them it is a wonderful thing. I am not even sure if they get paid or how much but they may just be offered psychological follow up afterwards.
So, SNAFU is the only one you apologize to, but to everyone else it's just "your opinion".
Okay, then!
***There, fixed it. You've never had a type-o?!***
Oh Christ! SNAFU I felt was sincere and seemed to understand where I was coming from. Let me pick you up at eight and we'll go to Olive Garden,my treat.Happy?
No.
I don't eat crappy Italian food.
But nice try.
Watching the clip, I can understand how it would be funny if you weren't paying attention to where it came from or what they were doing. Being a fan of the show, I know there's nothing funny in it at all. The show is contacted by family or loved ones and the subject agrees to taking part in a documentary about addiction. The goal is treatment. I think it's an amazing series and I wish it had been around when I was growing up. I know a lot of family and friends who could have benefited from weekly exposure to this show during their teens and early twenties.
Funny or not funny? What's the Ouija Board say?
I wouldn't know. I wouldn't let anyone bring one into my house.
