It really was kind of like a bad wedding toast, and the audience reactions didn't help- the laughes sounded like those that follow cheesy one-liners on sitcoms.

bway, i think that you're perverting the term unconditional love. to love unconditionally is not to accept everything a person does. i love family members of mine even though i despise many of their actions. unconditional love is not unconditional acceptance of every action and choice a person makes. i really think that it's possible for someone to love their child while disagreeing with their lifestyle, if they in fact see the choices they make as choices and not as an inevitable inborn trait. even still, i argue that you can love someone unconditionally while disagreeing with everything they do and or say and while not supporting their specific actions.
