The Captain_Obvious LOVE Thread!

The Captain is back! Hooray!

Unfortunately, he says it's only for a short time - just until he can not be bored and sit on his a$$ being amused by us.

I thought it would be handy to have a little thread we could pull out for everyone to show their love each and every time he returns - in whatever manifestation.

And I'll include one of the Captain's greatest hits, just so no one has to feel left out of why we all love the Captain SO MUCH.

You are a jerk. Why don't you go away and do whatever fabulous thing it is you are doing this week. Flying to the moon? Rescuing puppies from anacondas in the Amazon? Staring as Elphaba in the Las Vegas sit down of Wicked? I, for one, and tired of your lies, BS, and hatefulness.

Good! I wasted away another day. I've got to quit staying up so late. I went out last night and bought the book CREEPERS, by David Morrell. That last name might be spelled wrong. I had it finished by three. It's a good book.. Thriller/Suspense/Cat and Mouse type book. The imagery's great.

I'd go to the library and get it though. It's not worth the $30 bucks.

Captain - I'm sure there are many who are willing to overlook your tendency for hateful, bigotted and incendiary remarks - or, as you put it, they just 'get over it' - and deal only with what they wish to see. More power to them.

My purpose, as always, is simply to let you know that your comments are not appreciated, at least by me, and I wish they would stop.

Of course, as always, you have the right to post whatever you like.

And Rose, with all due respect, I'm not sure you have the clearest picture of who the 'mean people' are.

Rose and I chat over AIM, and we talked about meeting up for lunch or dinner when she was up here visiting, but we never go the chance.

Those I chat with over AIM get a better picture of me than those on here.

That's simply a matter of what YOU choose to present. If it wasn't for the few comments that go WAY over the edge, I wouldn't have any of these issues. But they seem to always come at some point.

I've told people on AIM my thoughts on Katrina. I might've even had a bulliten about it on Myspace. Either way, they all know how I feel about the same topics I've discussed here.

If you've said some of the things that have enraged posters on the board, and people have chosen to accept them, that's their business. As it is your business to say them. And my business to say I find them unacceptable.

So keep on throwing the hate around on occasion - because it's 'just a message board' - and i will continue to point out that I find it abhorrant and unacceptable. I just don't want to be seen as condoning by my silence.

Just to be clear, I can't honestly say I have feelings about YOU one way or another - but I REALLY have some problems with some of the things you are willing to say.

And, also to be clear, if we met and you said those things to my face, I wouldn't want anything to do with you.

As to why I think it means anything to speak up about this, it only that I believe in communities that are the creation of each individual part - and if I am silent in the face of what I don't believe in, then I am - as the Catholics would have it - guilty of the 'sin of omission'.
