The Nanny State is alive & well. It may very well be soon we will have a real Urinetown around here someday.

No, the city is free from having to listen to a Mr. Softee truck crank out that insipid and LOUD music while they've parked in front of your apartment to do business. They can still play the music while they are on the move.

I see this as a good thing.

Forget the people who make a living on these trucks whose business will suffer

It is the first of many nanny state rules that will really take the fun out of NY

I fully expect someday for firworks demonstrations to be banned

Of course, let us also forget the people that live in the apartments adjacent to the corners where these trucks park. Lord knows that paying thousands of dollars a month in rent shouldn't entitle you to be able to enjoy a little peace and quiet in your apartment.
