doxie....you don't know my mother, do you? My sister and I marvel about how much food they have and how dated it is.

I also find many of the elderly keep things around longer due to shortages during WW2.

When I was stationed in Germany we had a secretary who could not throw anything away, as after the Russians liberated Berlin she had nothing.

Even 30 years later she couldn't. I would go over to her house once every couple of weeks and throw bad food away.
