A quick refresher for those grammatically challenged.
Let's = Let us
example: Let's go see Wicked again.
Lets = allows
example: I hope my father lets me see Wicked again.
Your = 2nd person singular possessive
example: Your big head is blocking my view of Wicked.
You're = You are
example: You're a jerk for blocking my view of Wicked.
There = a specific place
example: The first time I saw Wicked, I sat right there.
They're = They are
example: They're sitting where I sat the second time I saw Wicked.
Their = 2nd person plural possessive
example: Their seats are not as good as the ones where I sat the third time I saw Wicked.
It's = It is
example: I love Wicked because it's the best musical ever!
Its = 3rd person singular possessive
example: What I love most about Wicked is its awesome soundtrack.
Would've = Would have
example: I would've seen Caroline, or Change, if it had been like Wicked.
Would of = Phoenetic misuse of would've. It means nothing.
Here = A specific place of reference.
example: I was standing right here when Eden Menzel told me Wicked might be made into a movie.
Hear = One of the five senses requiring the use of ears.
example: Did you hear that Eden Menzel will be starring in the movie version of Wicked?
Whose = Question of possession of particular noun
example: Whose mojito is sitting on my Wicked souvenir brochure? It is not a coaster.
Who's = Who is
example: Who's going to see Wicked dressed as their favorite Wicked character on Halloween besides me? I hope someone else doesn't choose an Elphaba costume!
Loser = One who has lost, as opposed to one who has won. Commonly used as an insult by those either lacking creativity or else are esoterically ironic.
example: Anyone who thinks Wicked did not deserve to win best musical is a loser!
Looser = To make more loose; the opposite of tighter.
example: If Glinda's wig were any looser, it might fall off and ruin the whole show! We should all light candles and pray over my autographed copy of the Grimmerie.
Effect = Noun; a result or consequence.
example: If, God forbid, Wicked should ever close, the effect could cause mass suicides and the end of Broadway forever!
Affect = Verb; to produce an effect or change.
example: Seeing Wicked for the first time affected every aspect of my life and I will never be the same again.
Then – Adverb; at that time or soon afterward
example: First, we will get Kristin’s autograph, then we’ll get Idina’s if she comes out.
Than – Conjunction; used in comparisons
example: I’d rather have Kristin’s autograph than Idina’s, anyway.
Alot – Misspelling of a lot. Not a word.
example: Kristin comes out of the stage door a lot more often than Idina.
Anyways – Misuse of anyway. Not a word.
example: Like I said, I’d rather have Kristin’s autograph than Idina’s, anyway.
's = Used for either a contraction (it's = it is) or to indicate possession (Mister Matt's = belongs to Mister Matt or "Mister Matt is...") It is NOT used to make a noun plural. EVER. For possession of a plural noun ending in "s", only an apostrophe is added after the "s" (cats' tails). Just to be sure, go back and read this paragraph again. And then read it again. And then write it down. Then memorize it. If you're still not sure, read it again. It's not that difficult. Just for fun, read it again.
example: It's strange that I did not understand all of Idina's lyrics in Defying Gravity. I will listen to the CD again to see what I missed when I get back to my parents' house. Dad's going to ground me for being up so late, but I love Wicked, so I don't care!
Any questions?

It's a gift.
will the exzapuls work if i replace wicked for avenue Q?
No.
No. Pay attention. It's only applicable to WICKED and BROOKLYN.
I'm not going to tell you again.
Rath, you are on a roll. Keep it up.
Liam - Mame will not work either.
I'm astounded by the cleverness of a select few people on this board.
On another note, I'm thinking about starting a thread on the main board- a theatre glossary. The first word: "Dresser."
I think you should start a thread listing the clever people on the board.
Sounds fun. Who's gonna be on it?
It's lostwallflower's thread. Let them decide.
Lol you guys take it and run with it. It's only recently that I've started to get over my posting-phobia. I've been a member since Febuary and this is my 131 message...And I think quite a few of those are from today.
And of course, Rath, you'd be on the clever list

Seriously, this thread belongs on the main board. The grammar is much better here.
Damn right, lostwallflower. And congratulations, and welcome.

The main board is in dire need of it.
