Hey guys!
I know a lot of us are in the middle of the college audition process right now. I thought it might be helpful to some of us to post about the schools we've auditioned for already, so that others who might be auditioning there will know what to expect.
Nazareth College: I auditioned there yesterday. There were only four of us auditioning for the musical theater major, but it was a very long day. I really enjoyed myself! The people are so friendly, and I was completely at ease the whole time with them. The day started out with a short music theory placement exam, which was followed by a very short piano and sight singing placement exam. Next was a short dance class where we learned a very easy routine. Everything went very quickly, but there was a lot of time in between each segment, so the day took forever.
We had a 15 minute rehearsal with the head of the department, and then the audition itself. I performed an art song, a musical theater piece, and two contrasting monologues. Then, the head of the theater dept. worked with me a little on different ways to act the monologues, and then I had the interview. It was so friendly and comfortable. They just sat me down and asked me to talk about myself. All in all, a very easy and relaxing audiiton.
I'll be auditioning at Pace University tomorrow, but anybody who has auditioned anywhere, please post about it!
