Step 2) Re-read the play
Step 3) Re-re-read the play
Step 4) Re-re-re-read the play.

My first question (after reading the show a few times): what do i expect them to say that they don't say? Why do i expect them to say it, and how are they more right than me?

read the script and write down muy first impressions of the show and character. More often than not, the audience will respond similarly.

Find my 'hook'. What draws me into the show?

What do I have in commonw ith my character? I start building from there since it is my closest connection to the character and it will evolve out more organically.

The physicality - how does the character walk, sit, stand, speak, etc. and why?
