"The Kennedys" on REELZ Ch. - anyone watching?

So far (Part 1):

Tom Wilkinson as Joe Kennedy - Superlative.

Script, other actors (incl. Kinnear) not very good, imho. Katie Holmes, one of the worst actresses ever. And oh, those conflicting and annoying "accents". Come ON.....

So many other "Kennedy" flicks out there over the decades, it's getting kinda tiresome, the whole dysfunctional "saga". However, as stated above, Wilkinson is a standout.

The History Channel backed out of airing it, and then it ended up on Reelz instead.

Well, let's just say it's a not very flattering portrait of the family, but that's what I kinda like, since most of the heinousness of the father, particularly is TRUE. Of course, the (Kennedy) family itself probably pressured the History Ch. into backing out. Because that's the main storyline, so far. How money can buy ANYTHING. Ironic.

Interesting that the right wing didn't think getting a movie bumped off a network was that bad when it was a movie about Reagan.

The right wing ultra conservative producer of the TV series 24 is behind this. Fact is,from what I have read and heard the film is just a nasty inaccurate boring mess of a movie.


The reviews are horrible. The series was shopped around everywhere until this network I had never heard of before decided to take it. Just a small sample of the God awful reviews.

Anyone who watches this series thinking they are actually gonna learn something about the family is in for a surprise. It's like Glen Beck giving you a crash course on US History(his version of facts that is)

No one is watching this to learn anything. they are watching it to have their pre-existing prejudices reconfirmed.
