I did a search and didn't see a thread on this. Anybody catch this while it was in the theaters? It's out on dvd now and i rented it from Redbox. I really loved this movie and thought it was quite fun. It made marginal money over the budget so may/not get a sequel. The leads want to do one. I hope so. The 60's outfits and hairdos were spot on. I just wished the music had a more 60's feel.

Haven't seen it yet. Will catch it on Netflix. From what I have read, Solo is with the CIA. If so, how does U.NC.L.E come into play?

I really don't want to give anything away plotwise. However, know this before watching. Many who didn't like the movie was because it strayed too much from the tv series. I enjoyed the movie mainly because of the charm of the two leads, the 60's setting, and the fun script.

The series plays on ME TV late nights on the weekends. It is fun to watch it as I remember it when it was first aired in the 60's. Many of the sets from MGM movies over the years were utilized. A number of big name stars were on it including Angela Lansbury among others.
I will probably enjoy it but it probably will not surpass the series in pure fun and nuttiness. It was one a a spate of spy shows that popped up once James Bond hit the screen.

I hope you like it. As I stated, when watching try not to make comparisons to the tv show. You'll enjoy it more.

The movie's a whole lot of fun. I never watched the original series, but I had a great time watching the movie. Pure popcorn entertainment with a great cast.

It is on ME TV TWC Channel 1239 early Sunday & Monday@ 2 AM. DVR it every weekend and watch it later.

As mentioned, the film underperformed the expectations of the studio, they r prob trying to recoup as quickly as poss. It is a fun lil popcorn movie also do not expect a franchise which I think was a goal. I still remain in love w David McCallum as Illya Kuriakin tho.

I do not think any other 2 actors could have made the TV series succeed like it did, They had a natural chemistry and they played off of each other brilliantly . Vaughn is still alive but retired from acting . McCallum is still plugging away god bless him

The movie was mostly fun. Had some enjoyable action sequences and a lovely 60s charm. It was pretty paint by numbers though, and not too memorable. Still a good renter though.

Might have done better if the original star had done it and not backed out. That was George Clooney

I agree. Henry was quite charming. Can't see George in the role.
