However, Jason Seagel will not be involved in it due to pursuing more "human-related" projects, "It’s true [that I won't be in the sequel],” said Segel, “but it’s totally amicable. My goal was to bring the Muppets back and I did that, leaving them in very good hands.”

Ty Burrell has landed a role in the sequel. He will play a character called the Interpol inspector. James Bobin, who directed the first film, will direct the sequel and he co-wrote the script with Nicholas Stoller. This time the film will be set in Europe.
