Hey guys and gals. As most of you know, I am in my local town's production of THE MUSIC MAN (which performances are still going on until tomorrow) and the official review is up on the website of my local paper if you want to have a look . . . oh yeah . . . and I am mentioned. The Music Man review

Side not--The reviewer came to our final dress rehearsal where we were still working out some technical things and a little bit of blocking, and of course she mentions that. UGH!

The Review

I clicked your link and was brought to an article about Hurricane Dean. Timely, but it doesn't seem to pose a threat to River City.

Does that mean that the hurricane demolished River City?

It also mentioned "An abundance of sex appeal" but she had to cut it for space. re: The Music Man review

Yes, I can see exactly where the line had been, Deej. re: The Music Man review

Congrats! Only 2 shows left, and then what's next? Will you be making an appearance in THE AV THREAD, the musical?

Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

98 is considered hot where you live? (top of page "98 very hot")
That is amuzing as 98 here this time of year would be a cooling trend, lol......shous be 111 112 here today.

98 IS hot, Elph.

You just chose to live in "Hell," CA.

I can't even get out of my car anymore in Palm Springs/Palm Desert. My contacts curl up on my eyes.

To each his own!

naw, 98 is cool.......I can garden in 98, ride my bike.....it's refreshing! You "coasters" are just spoiled.
Of course the bad part is my blood has thinned so when I go to like SF, Long Beach, etc, I freeze.

and Hell, Dear, is a town in Michigan, and the Cayman Islands.

I just prefer it warmer than cooler I guess.

DJ that's great, congrats! Especially with all the conflicts you had with the director.
Nice tan, btw

OMG, the tan! After that performance, I asked . . . well, begged . .. the make up person to go a little lighter because it was the pain in the butt to get off.

Thanks so much guys for the nice comments.

Well, 98 degrees is the temp here but the humidity makes it feel like 110+

Yes, this show has had it's ups and downs. I had the problem with the director, the guy playing Harold changed lyrics, and one of the ensemble people (who was bi-polar) committed suicide a few weeks ago. But, through all the trials, I think we have a pretty good show on our hands. re: The Music Man review

Wow.

Not exactly "trouble in River City" I've ever dealt with, DJ.

A fellow cast mate committed suicide?

Why is that so unbelievable?

It has nothing to do with being "unbelievable"... It's never happened to me before in all the shows, casts and concerts I've been a part of. And it's some pretty heavy sh*t.

Yes, it's true. He was 20 or 21 and he came home for the summer from college and him and his mom were in the show. A few weekends ago, his mom and dad went away for their anniversary and while they were gone, his bi-polar must have kicked in big time and he hung himself in his bedroom. His mom found him when she got home. It was horrible. I remember having a full conversation with him just days before he killed himself. He was going to Harvard and had a bright future ahead of him. Such a sad thing to happen.

Congratulations on your good reviews! Isn't it nice to be recognized for your good work? I'm currently in a production of "Cinderella" and was tickled just to be mentioned in the review!

"Music Man" is such a fun show, and "Shipoopi" is just so silly, it's great! How many shows do you have left?

Also, so sorry to hear about your castmate. That's a blow to any cast. Did his father and mother continue with the show?

Wendy--Thank you so much for your kind words. Yes, the "Shipoopi" is loads of fun to do. "Sadder but Wiser Girl" and "The Shipoopi" get the biggest applause from the audience. Mainly because of the dance moves I/we do. My mom **secretly** recorded those two songs, so I may put it on here to show it to you. Tonight (8/19) is my last show. I am VERY ready to get this over with because I feel like I haven't slept in 2 months, but at the same time I am going to miss it and some of the people I have gotten to know. No, his mom stopped with the show after he died (I would to if I was her).

Caroline-- Oh, Broadway. If only . . . if only!
