A community theatre in my area is doing "The Mystery of Edwin Drood." I'm not too familiar with the show, other than the cd and few YouTube videos. I am wondering, what is a better role -- Edwin Drood or Rosa Bud? It seems that Rosa Bud has a solo, and possibly more songs...but Edwin Drood has the title role. Who has more acting to do?
Has anyone seen this that can offer me some info? I'm a soprano and can handle both vocal part, BTW.

Drood is a much bigger role. It requres a high, powerful belt. Rosa Bud is a wimpy ingenue soprano.
Drood sings:
Two Kinsmen - duet with Jasper
Perfect Strangers - duet with Rosa Bud
Private Investigation - duet with Puffer
Writing on the Wall - big ass solo at the end!
Remember, in Act 2, Drood (who is dead) also plays Datchery, the detective.
