I started a new one because the old one didn't allow me to reply. Millie's last message messed everything up, so I thought I would make a new one.
Here is the old thread, https://forum.broadwayworld.com/readmessage.cfm?thread=562853&boardname=off&dt=122504014347
and I will pick up where it left off:
EverythingisRent, maybe it's that you're already into so many things that you don't allow yourself to be obsessed with this world. The main reason why these books suck people in is that people love to imagine that a world like this actually exists, and they sort of mentally role-play themselves into that universe. Maybe you were already sucked into another world and that prevents you from fully getting into Harry Potter.

Well, in response to that, I've made rather a habit--almost a career--of being obsessed with several worlds at once. Every time I think it couldn't possibly happen again, it does. Another will sink gracefully into the pool of my obsessions, and they stay there quite peacefully until something wakes them up.
Yep, I've got a system.
