On 12/2/2009 - The New York State Senate voted down Marriage Equality in the state by a vote of 24-38. Going into the vote, the odds of any Republican voting for the bill was slim, despite assurances of no "block" voting.
What happened on the Dem side of the aisle? 8 members of the Democratic party chose to come down on the side of inequality and bigotry.
We need to do what we can to have these shameful officals removed from office at the end of their terms. Furthermore, Senators Huntley, Oronato and Stachowski should be removed from their leadership positions within the Senate.
Contact their offices and let them know you are displeased with their actions.

...that is from a link on Facebook.
I would have used a stronger word than 'displeased'.
WRITE!
NOW!
EVERY DAY!
ALL OF US!
While you're planning how to act up, WRITE!
I've written both the 8 (shame on you!) and the 24 (thank you!)! I think we all should!
And is supposedly being outted for his vote.
And, I am glad.
Hmmmm, half of them are from "QUEENS"??? Ironic, as Namo would say.
And I know you mean well, but shouldn't the calling have been done BEFORE the vote? I know it can't hurt now, but it is all in the timing.
Sadly, there has been much calling and emailing for weeks and months now.
And maybe the yes votes that were earlier a no vote were swayed. And maybe if we continue to email and phone, these current no votes will become yes votes.
In fact, the Assembly voted 3 times to pass marriage equality and each time, the yes vote got bigger.
That is encouraging, and I certainly don't mean to put anyone down for continuing to fight.
Well, you actually made a valid point. We need to stop letting defeats remind us.

No doubt Maggot Gallagher will claim "reverse discrimination" yet again, accusing us of persecuting these poor politicians for their beliefs.
For once I'm ashamed to say I'm from Buffalo.
