We went this afternoon. I found it entertaining, and humorous in its sly satiric way. Slow on dramatic incident however extremely engaging performance by Gretchen Mol, and also by Lili Taylor, among others. The bondage films which Bette made look totally innocent and quaint by todays cyberage standards of acceptability. I liked the way the film uses color for emphasis.
[Side note: I'm told that Bette married a guy from my hometown who was in the US Navy. His family lived a block from mine. This was before I was born, but my mother knew him and her.]
