Here it is folks......an entire thread devoted to that wonderful aunt of mine. You have all heard DollyPop and I talk about this charming woman before. He is your chance to ask me questions about her. I will start off in saying that she threw me down a flight of stairs when I was 4 years old because I spilled my milk.

That was her way of showing love for you.
Does Aunt Arline still look like Leona Helmsley?

I haven't seen her since 1987 at my grandfather's funeral. She asked me to leave the cemetery because she said I didn't belong there. She was jealous because the Rabbi mentioned me in the eulogy and not her children.

Not to take the fun out of this thread but Yenta- is this Aunt Arline real and are the stories real or are you just using your imagination?

She is 100% real. I know this may be hard to believe. She is my mother's only sister and they have always been rivals. She is about 5 years older than my mother so she must be about 80 now. Once I was taking care of my grandfather at her house. He just had hip surgery and I pulled up all the throw rugs so he wouldn't trip. She came home from work and smacked the crap out of me for doing that. Later that week, he went into cardiac arrest at dinner. I told her to call 911 as I started CPR on him. She said she wanted to keep the line open because she was expecting a call from a friend. I grabbed the phone and called while pumping on his chest. Ambulance came and transported him to the hospital and he survived. She showed up at the hospital three hours later because she went shopping. The woman is a saint.

um.
WoW. She really sounds...bad.
I'm sorry you have/had to deal with her.
At least you have BWW to talk about how horrible she is...

I think I told this story before, but it belongs here:
Arline's daughter had serious surgery and after Arline brought her home from the hospital, she left to spend the rest of the day at the Metropolitan Museum of Art because she "couldn't deal with the stress". She left her daughter to fend for herself while recovering from the operation.
I have NEVER seen Arline in town--or anywhere else for that matter--without the New York Times in her hand. She likes to give the impression she's highly intellectual.

You are right DollyPop.......She gives the IMPRESSION of being intellectual. I think she has been carrying around that same copy of the NY Times since the 60's. It is sad though, when I think of the family I come from. In fact, it hurts quite a bit. Unfortunately I come from a family where was a great deal of abuse and narcisscism. My aunt and her kids are my only living relatives left in the Northeast. There is no contact whatsover. My mother, brother and his family all moved to CA. I thank G-d for my friends.

And Lord know, you've got a ton of friends here on BWW.
Baruch Hashem!
She *threw* you down a flight of stairs? What did your mom do?
Still it is wacko characters like her that make the world interesting. How do you know her Dollypop? Is she a neighbour?
I have an "Aunt Arline", but her name is Betty.
I can't stand the woman, and I haven't spoken to her since Thanksgiving. I hung up on her after she told me that my boyfriend and I weren't invited to her house.
I know it's selfish, but she should treat me the same way she treats my breeder cousin.

Maybe it's you. Maybe she didn't enjoy it when you brought the sugar daddy who gave you the fancy car and took it away that one time.
I may be stupid, but I'm not that stupid. I kept him as far away from my family as I could.
