All I'd like to know is why does someone who has administrative status on these boards generally seem to function as a negative presence here?
Why does he pick fights for no apparent reason and insult those persons, including myself, who really do strive to be beneficial members of this community?
Is there some reason that a "quizmaster" (????) has complete and total free reign to be nasty and rude (albeit, passive aggressively) for absolutely no reason to the members of this site?
And I'd really like to know and understand what his agenda is concerning his repeated attempts to alienate the very people that make this site an interesting place on the web to participate in?
The "powers that be" can, of course, run and operate this site in any manner that they see fit. I simply am at a loss to understand why they would employ and give a position of authority to someone who seems set on undermining the familial ethos that it would seem that they are trying to encourage and achieve with this community (and have done a terrific job doing that, thus far); for some unfathomable reason, they allow to go unchecked a person who drives people away with his every utterance.
And please don't tell me I'm misunderstanding his attempts at humor -- Jose is many things, but Noel Coward, he ain't.

Excellently put, Margo. While you are absolutely correct that Rob and Craig can run this board in whatever way they choose, the fact that they look the other way while RodneyK blatantly personally attacks several members of the BWW community and then continue to look the other way while Jose' threatens to ban Matt_G for (from what I can gather) starting a thread about Pirate Jenny's context in Threepenny Opera, really leaves me awestruck with disbelief.
Jose' should never have been given moderator privileges in the first place and when it became clear he would abuse them so wantonly, then they should have been rescinded. He does nothing but engender bad feeling on this site. That Rob and Craig can't see that is amazing to me. I am still reeling from the terrible way they handled his attack on Margo, Matt and DGrant last week. Sadly I don't expect them to do anything about it this time, either.

I have tried to stay quiet on this issue, but I cannot sit idly by and not say something this time. It seems very, very bad on Jose's part to have responded in the way he did. While Matt did post it in a sarcastic way, it would not have been locked if Matt had replied any other poster in that way. While I respect Jose' right to his opinions, I believe he took the low road by his last comment. It had a domineering quality to it that puts him in a bad light.
My avatar is a reminder to myself. I need lots of reminders...

Here's a clarification for anyone who might be inclined to believe there are two sides to every story, and for those who may not have been around while the brief exchange was taking place...
The 3Penny post wasn't locked to prevent discourse. It was locked because Matt made an inappropriate comment, in my opinion, which I deleted. And he reposted. And I redeleted. And he reposted. And I redeleted. And he reposted. So I locked the thread.
In my view, locking the thread would allow others who might come after the benefit of reading the substantive comments posted earlier in the thread. Had I deleted the thread altogether, it would have been lost in its entirety.

Sad. Frankly only a therapist can get at some of the freakish control/ power issues here.
This is a message board -- no big deal. It concerns me that someone takes such glee in aggravating anonymous people on the internet. What goes on in his real life relations with people. I hope Jose has time and money to seek professional help.
I am also starting to believe that there is more than coincidence to the moderators' allowing Rodney to run rampant around here -- posting any kind of obscenity and insult with impunity. Could it be that Jose = Rodney?

None of those substantive comments were made by Jose', now were they. His first contribution was to point out that there had been other threads on Threepenny Opera and Matt should have used the search function. Jose'... you must be pretty thin-skinned for one "bite me" comment to rattle you as much as it did. And as I see it, you definitely goaded Matt_G into making that comment. What difference does it make that there have been other Three-Penny Opera threads in the past? Why did that warrant a finger shaking lesson from you? Why is Matt_G being singled out? Where are you when multiple threads for other shows are being posted? And more importantly, where are you (or Rob and Craig for that matter) when the likes of a RodneyK are hurling vicious insults at other board members? Your selective disciplinary actions are highly suspect. Not to mention extremely childish and unprofessional.
There is nothing like returning to a place that remains unchanged to find the ways in which you yourself have altered.

Rob occassionally does go to bed early, but panic not as he's never too far away, for too long. Switching back to first person, I wasn't online for last night's fun, but scanning through things this AM, repeatedly posting "bite me" isn't the nicest term to throw in to a discussion (repeatedly)...
With regards to other postings that aren't removed, and should be... I'm sure there are, which is why I constantly encourage the use of that PM button next to my name, or the contact button to the left <---. Keeping an eye on over 3,000 posts a day isn't the easiest bit of work, which is why we rely on help. We will be adding on a couple more mods for help in a few weeks along with a slew of some othe new features and fun here on the site. Stay tuned for those.
And of course, looking forward to seeing many of you tomorrow night. It's gonna be fun!

Now, would you kindly unlock the THREEPENNY OPERA thread and move it back to the main board? You know, the one where people were having a mature discussion about a production not designed to inspire young girls to jump out of their windows and fly?
And Jose, after last night, I FULLY EXPECT you to search for the topics EVERY SINGLE PERSON here posts and inform them when the subject was last brought up. Because whenever you mention a show from now on, you can bet that's what I'll be doing.
