Posted: 4/11/06 at 11:32pmThe most recognizable element in a Canadian accent is pronouncing words that Americans put an "ow" sound in, like "house" with an "oo" sound instead - "hoose." That's sort of oversimplified, because there's a Scottish inflection to it that keeps it from being a straight "oo" sound.

Apparently we also pronounce about differently.
I know roof and garage are pronounced different.
