For those who are interested, this was just posted on IMDb:
As you guys know, Adam hosted a mini concert featuring performances from the touring casts of Tick..tick..BOOM! (TTB!) and RENT at the Grove in L.A. I was lucky enough to be able to go, so as promised, here is a detailed description of the event:
I got to the Grove an hour early. The event took place in a small grassy area in the middle of the huge shopping arena. The stage was small, with big speakers. It was absolutely SCORCHING hot. Everyone was out there cooking. Andrew, Wilson (Cruz - but a serious look alike), and Tami of TTB! were already there, as were Bryce and Jed (Roger and Mark) from the RENT cast. They sang clips of songs to the very excited crowd as a sound check. I staked out a spot dead center in the front of the stage. All the performers were really nice and casual. I got the autographs of Andrew (jon) and wilson (michael) from TTB, who seemed really thrilled by the attention. I also saw Mr. and Mrs. Larson on the sidelines, and Julie Larson McCollum, too. They were all incredibly gracious when I thanked them for their son's work..
At quarter to twelve, I caught sight of Adam rounding the corner. For those who are interested, he was wearing a dark blue shirt with a star thingy logo, loose blue pants, some kind of Converses, a black baseball cap, sunglasses, and yes a sort of fanny pack (it wasn't as funny looking as it sounds.) A bunch of us raced towards him, but these burly security guards escorted him into the nearest stoor and stood guard outside. We waited for about ten minutes, while official people talked to Adam. After a while, the people left, but the security guards still blocked the way. I heard bits of conversation, and Adam arguing (stuff like "they're standing out in the *beep* sun") and then he came out smiling, and said, "come over here, guys," and he brought us to an open place and he began to sign autographs. Because of time, we couldn't do pix, but that's life. When it was my turn, he signed myu poster while I was thanking hijm and telling him how amazing he was. Me being the idiot I am, I choked up when I was thanking him and telling him how much I respect him. But then (OMG OMG) Adam gave me a hug and said, "thanks sweetie." It waS wonderful, even though I was embarassed. I didn't see anyone else get a hug Adam was so unbelievably nice and down to earth - he convinced the b*tchy security guards to let him sign autographs! I can say first hand, after years of worshipping him, that he is wonderful!
The concert started with Bryce singing "Glory." he did a great job, even though he doesn't have Adam's earthy tone and explosion on the high notes. Then Adam came up and welcomed everyone. He wa s incredibly charming, and complimentary of the new RENT and TTB! casts. I was surprised at how he didn't shoot off his mouth, as he's been known to do. The closest he came was, "I'm sorry, ladies and gentlemen, my cards are *beep* up." Bryce and Jed of RENT went on to sing "What You Own," again great, but nothing on Anthony and Adam - they just "own" that song. Adam specially welcomed Mr. and Mrs. Larson, and Julie Larson McCollum; Wilson Cruz of TTB! who had just won an award; and WILSON JERMAINE HEREDIA, who was in the back of the crowd!!! They all got a huge round of applause. Then "Take Me or Leave Me" was sung, with a lot of wonderful energy. Then Adam introduced the 3-person cast of TTB! They sanbg "30/90", Tami sang "Come to Your Senses," and they sang "Louder Than Word." They were incredible, and quite distinct from the original cast. Andrew (Jon) didn't actually looking anything like Jon, so I don't think they're typecasting anymore. Raul Esparza was quite similar in NY. Anyway, as they concluded, the securityy guard slipped Adam away. Thank god i met him before the concert. There was a huge round of applause from the very hyper fans, and then the concert was over in 45 minutes. The ni got up to track down Wilson (Jermaine Heredia). He was already surrounded by a crowd. He's wearing his goatee again, and looked ownderful. When it was my turn, he was also fabulously nice and candid with his fans. When I met him, I got his autograph and he answered my question of what he's doing now: 3 movies are coming out, and he's doing some writing. I got a picture with him, and he was awesome.
Meeting Adam and Wilson after sooooooo many years of adoration was a dream come ture, and they were both unbelievably nice, friendly, and yes - even hotter in person than they appear in pictures. It was such an awesome day - I hope some of you made it. So anyway, this was a super long post from my grandma's ancient laptop. I'm staying in L.A. through the day of Adam's solo concert, so I'll write up a report of that day, too. It should be amazing (and i'm running out of flattering adjectives)

Awww. That makes me happy (though also admittedly jealous -- even though I KNOW I have no right to be).
Someone pleaaaase make it be October.

Yup. :)
Thanks for posting that, SD! I especially liked the part where he stood up to the "burly security guards"!
Edit: Oops. "b*tchy security guards".

Yes thanks - I would have loved to listen in on that conversation with the security people. That poster has been a fan for a long time, so it's great she finally got to meet him, even if she had to fly across the country to do it.
Come to Chicago Adam!!!!!
Awww. That definitely made me smile. Thanks for posting it, Lexi... I don't often check the IMDb boards. That concert sounds like a lot of fun -- really fantastic combination of shows, and Adam and Wilson.
Monica, I liked Lonely House, but I think I prefer Heroes... maybe because it seemed really personal to him.
Gaaah, I love Heroes. And I love "this is the song I sang.... and I SUCKED!"
Yeah... obviously he got past that, since on the Chatterbox it was gorgeous.

No problem. I'm glad it cheered everyone up. And bdwaygirl, they were probably both burly and bitchy. I don't doubt that the crazier fans get irritating, but it's nice of him to reach out to everyone regardless.
Am I the only one who found it a bit odd that she said Raul looked similar to Jon, though? I don't see it.
The competition? Hee. No comment!!
Adam's MySpace keeps freezing my browser.
Yeah I thought that was a little odd too Lexi. Physically they don't look the same, but I did find that Raul made people believe that he was Jonathan despite the large difference in appearance.

Oh, Raul definitely did a great job, but I thought she was specifically talking about their physical appearances.
Can someone please give me a life? I swear I'm going to go crazy within the next month. There is NOTHING to do here, and I'd rather just sit on my computer all day and do nothing rather than just drive around.
<-- Look who's back. Woo.

That's going to be my problem too Lexi. I don't want to start job searching, I'd rather just be a bum for a bit, but my mom won't let me.

If it's of any consolation, I haven't had the opportunity to sit around the house since the summer between ninth and tenth grade. My parents have always forced me into something school/academia related or, now, a job. I don't really like work and always look forward to my days off, but since there's nothing to do here, I don't know what to do with them.
I called my best friend (well, we used to be...) a night or two ago, but she couldn't do anything. I don't really see the point in hanging out with people who I'm never going to see again after four more weeks, so I'll just bitch here instead. Heh.
At least you don't have that bitchy foreman to work under anymore. I still think you're totally entitled to sing "At the End of the Day," by the way.
Hee. Totally, if he didn't rush us out of the place so fast I would've done something. I had plans on taking the only good exacto knife.
I like your new avatar Lexi
The competition? Hee. No comment!!
Hehehe... I left before I read that. I meant that he got past sucking at singing that song! :-P
Suuuuure.
When & where did Adam have blue hair?!
That IMDb poster wrote a terrific post about the concert. Lucky her. Can't wait til October

He had blue hair when he was doing Rent in London, didn't he?
Thanks, Dancingqueen. :) I love your userpic.
Sweetsiren, I think Heroes is my favorite of those three as well. I said Lonely House earlier most likely because I've been listening to it nonstop for the past 2 days. I should stop before I begin to get sick of it, but I most likely won't.
I also refuse to believe that he ever sucked.
Sorry for the replying-to-comments-a-day-later thing. Guess I'll just have to come here more often, then.
I am, so very jealous of that girl. *sigh* Excuse my ignorance, but what happens in October?
((I personally can't wait for November. Company and Les Mis in one month, unless I'm remembering wrong. *sigh*))

Thanks, Dancinqueen.
Monica, I believe he had blue hair for a very short while during his time with Adam Pascal Band in 1997.
