Hey everybody I had a dream about Rent secrets last night. It was creepy-ish. Here it goes: I was with my little sister outside my house. SO i see a booth & in huge letters it says "RENT SECRETS" w/ a huge banner & all. I went to the booth. The booth is like those things you take pictures in. Like the The ones when they come out of the thing, they're really small w/ different designs on & that w/ a flag thing covering it? Ya it was like that. So there's a guy in the booth, like McDonald's drive-thru to listen to your secrets. That's it. Weird-right?
In the back of the Rent 10 program, there's a copy of a list, in Jonathan's handwriting, of his breakdown of a year: days, seasons, months, weeks, meals, hours, minutes, seconds, thoughts, ideas, dreams, ideas, breaths, memories -- some numbered, some not. He asks, in reference to moments that count "how long is a moment?" "What makes an event memorable?"
I don't know why I posted that. It really touched me, though.
Em- I think it's also in the Rent "bible."
I realize that I really don't wanna write my paper tonight & tomorrow. School sucks, exspecially this month + finals. I need to get it over it. But I'm gonna be sad, because once schools ends, some of my friends are coming back for our final year. My schools ends at 9th grade (weird/stupid, i know), so after the Mother Daughter Dinner last night, I realized how much I'm gonna miss everybody.
I'm at the library right now & I saw a brochure thing for Rent near all the magaziens & stuff.
It probably is; I haven't read it thoroughly in a while.
That was an interesting dream, Angela. Maybe you'll be able to stay in touch with some of your friends who are leaving.
Emcee, tell us more about the program.
The front and back insides covers have photo collages, mostly from casts following the OBC. It has bios for all of the original cast members and all members of the creative team, and then some things written by various people about Jonathan and the show: there's something about the "ironic triumph" that Rent is, a timeline of the show from conception to Rent 10, an article by Frank Rich from March '96, and a short thing about Jonathan's life, a two-page spread of international Rent ads.... etc. Scattered throughout the bios are little blurbs written by various people -- cast members, creative team people and others about what the show means to them, etc. The majority of the progam is ads that people bought, congratulating and whatnot.
Sounds nice. I take it the bios are up to date, and not the same ones that ran when the show opened. Was there anything of particular interest in the bios or mini-interviews?
Yup, new, updated bios. They're fairly lengthy, but (I'm assuming you want to know about Adam's ) there's nothing we didn't know. Most of them are fairly standard, just with credits and what they've been up to. The little blurb thingies are nice, but not anything unfamiliar.
For example, Fredi writes that "for the record" she is "very, very pleased" with Tracie's work as Joanne in the movie. Then she talks about what she loves about Rent, and what, to her, it means to "get" the show. Gwen Stewart recounts some memories, and Kristen Lee Kelly talks about what the experience means to her.

Chloe, I think Katt showed me Adam's bio, and I could have sworn that I saw it before on a website.
My graduation party is finally over. It was fun at first, but trying to small talk for four hours is draining.
eek, social awkwardness.
It would be quite Adamish for him to have provided the bio from his myspace, or something like that.
Small talk for anything over half an hour is draining for me. My condolences, but congratulations on your graduation. When is the actual ceremony?
No, it's much more well-written than the MySpace bio.

I'm not sure if it's word for word from an article or anything like that, but so many of the sentences seemed very familiar. Stuff like, "From then, Pascal went to star in Disney's Aida, and also co-produced Fully Committed with Jesse L. Martin." Bland stuff like that.
It wasn't awkward as much as tiring. Everyone was very nice, but I just wanted to take a nap!
Thanks, Chloe. I believe the actual ceremony is on the 28th, although I'm not even completely sure about that.
I hope everyone else is having a great day!
I've spent all of about two hours out of bed today. No particular reason, just... am here.
It's like "in 2000, Broadway called again..." and talks about Aida, etc. It's a bit more drawn-out than just your usual list of credits.
His publicist must have some kind of standard thing that gets sent out, which is why I was surprised that the bio from one of the fansites (can't remember which) was used by one of the schools on the tour. It has an inaccuracy that's gotten quite well-circulated now, which is that Adam was on the cover of Time. It twas actually Time Out, the NYC arts guide magazine. The other mistake you see a lot is spelling Cybele's maiden name as "Chivan" instead of "Chivian." Things like this drive me much crazier than they should. I guess it's on a par with having to straighten pictures hanging on a wall.
I'm also a perfectonist & a person who's easily annoyed. For instance, when I read people's profile on AIM on & something is spelled wrong, I will personally IM them & tell that that's its spelled wrong. I'm at the library right now, & people have drinks here since starbucks is next door. It's driving me nuts.
Yes, wanton rule-breaking also bothers me, for no very good reason. I tend to like some rule-breakers though, so go figure.

Yikes, that girl is awfully excited. Great shot of the *necklace* though.
Gosh, that's a lot of work Lexi.
aw, I love his shirt.
I was able to just click on it, SD.
Funny homework story!
We're doing the Iranian Revolution in my Humanities class, and one of our homework research questions was about the origin of chess. So I just wrote down the lyrics to "The Story of Chess."

It's a nice shirt, but I'd rather see him perform in a wifebeater.
Heh, Chloe. I knew you'd appreciate it!
I'm pretty sure "The Story of Chess" isn't historically accurate... ? Heh. That's cute, though.
hah, her eyes are all bugged out. But, I shouldn't really comment about eyes bugged out, since I probably was close to passing out. heh.
