To quote my Chinese mother, "Aie yaaah..."
You guys told me to go back and read the last few pages, so I just went back and read from page 135 onwards, only to find out this little mini-drama's only been going on since page 153??? Cop out! Let's make this a real fight so I can get my time's worth!
Insomniak, come back please. (I like Insomniak. She's my partner in crime on CB.

)
Everyone back in their corners.
Here's what it comes down to - Aida's got a lot of offer aside from merely the spectacular sets. There's the music, the characters (although IMHO, Zoser, Nekh--I'll mangle the spelling, and Mereb are very underwritten), the performers, the choreography and the costumes.
Likely, the tour won't have all of the set elements that the Bway production did. (And this isn't necessarily a bad thing. The current RENT tour set looks great - Yes, I'm shilling for it. Again.)
But it's unfair to say that the enjoyment of the show relies on the set, because if that's the case, then the show probably will be a real bore to people. (I speak from experience - I saw Miss Saigon last year and if not for the pretty sets, I would've lit my hair on fire.)
So everyone, be happy. Stop snarking.
Thank you, and good night.
(Was this a productive first "real" post here or what??)
