Oh, yes, this pic sounds very lovely. I really want to see what that shirt looks like!
And a random question, but I was wondering where all y'all first heard about or saw Adam?
Of course everyone's gone now that I'm back. =( But I'll answer anyway.
I heard about him when he was in RENT. I actually had to be dragged into seeing it. All the hype surrounding it just turned me off; I was very very skeptical. But a friend convinced me to go; she said, "You know, just because something is popular doesn't mean it has no value." So I agreed to go.
I still had problems with the show after seeing it that first time. I loved the music; the lyrics were really good in some parts, but were uneven; the book had some problems, I wasn't sure what to think of the Mimi coming back to life, and truthfully, I thought a musical which needs a chart to explain its characters and their relationships is a bit in trouble. But I really liked the music, and the energy (from the audience and from the stage) was very powerful. And I liked a lot of the staging. But yeah, from the first number... his voice just floored me. I decided I was going to have to hear more of him singing by the time he finished One Song Glory .
And Undiscovered: I like that first RENT picture you put up. He looked so happy =)

Happy? I always thought he was in serious pain...
Yeah, I saw Rent, the Collins Tour, on November fourth, 2003. I decided immediately that I needed the OBCR, and Adam's voice stood out from the crowd. I googled, and after getting over the fact that "Original Roger" was some bleach-blonde guy and not a brunette (I don't know why that threw me, but it did. I got used to the cast I saw and then the OBC was different looking)I decided he was pretty hot too.

whoa. ok missed a lot. adam so should do a toothpaste commercial!! that would be so cute!! ok. i first heard of/saw adam when i went with my family to see aida back in 2001. the first thing that came to my mind when i saw his headshot was 'wow, he's cute!' he immediately got my attention when he opened his mouth for the first time. I think that my jaw literally dropped. his performance astounded me! after the show we were walking to get our car and we saw this door that everyone was standing around. we decided to stand there too just to see what happened (we didn't know that it was the stage door). so a few actors come out and we get there autographs. then ADAM came out!! he was sooo nice!! he signed my playbill and told me to stop crying as he gave me a hug (i was sobbing still because of the end) . i got a few more autographs (one autograph and a hug from maya days. she's the sweetest thing!). everyone was waiting for the girl who played amneris (idina). then she finally came out. she looked a little rushed and quickly signed my playbill. that was my first adam/stagedoor experience. that's when i fell under his spell. *sigh*

true true. heck he's hot in any pose!
Don't feel bad insomniak, I've often wondered what Adam smelled like too. I almost asked Emcee one time, but I couldn't word it right without it sounding weird. So you're not alone. Don't worry!

Well, I'd even take a wierdly worded answer, I wanna know!
Welcome again Lara, I've talked to you once before. Post more often.

Sorry, I'm anxious and nervous about school.
LMAO Lara!! I've heard several times that Adam smells REALLY good, but I can't say I know from experience.
I posted a thread on the main board about the show, and I'm just about to give y'all the details about our boy.

Ok, five minutes... *prays that Emcee finishes before she gets forced off*
Okay - here we go! Woohoo!!
Sorry, I'm so wired and SO dazed that it's making for a really weird state of mind right now. I've been up since 7 a.m. and I've hardly eaten a damned thing all day. I felt so so so so sick this morning and I was like "ew. How is today going to be fun if I feel like crap?" but I was able to suck it up and I felt alright for the rest of the day.
So. I got into the city REALLY early and killed some time. AspiringGuy and his friend met up with my friend and I at the Palace stagedoor around 12:30 and we waited patiently for about ten minutes. We were talking and I glanced up, saw Adam walking across 47th, then FREAKED out. I started pointing and trembling and squealing and the whole bit. AG got a good laugh out of that, I think. For pre-show stagedooring, there was actually a pretty big crowd - probably about 12 or 13 people or so. When Adam came across the street, people didn't even wait for him to get up to where they were standing. They just flocked over to him, like sheep! AG, our friends and I stepped back and waited quietly until the hysteria had ended. People were there with like four posters each that they wanted signed - it was kind of crazy.
Adam got to us last. He was wearing an olive green t-shirt with something written on it in yellow, khaki shorts and brown sandals. He looked really cute. He had all three of his earings in, and was wearing that big, gorgeous smile of his. He took a picutre with AG first, and then came over to me. I was shaking, and still didn't have a plan!
Now my sick memory comes into play:
Adam: Hi!
Me: Hi! I heard the new song. I love it!
Adam: Thanks!
Me: So when's it coming out?
Adam: Um, November 2nd.
Me: Great! Are you excited?
Adam's eyes lit up and he smiled. "Yeah, I'm really excited."
Me: I can't wait!
So I took a picture of him and my friend (an Adam virgin, by the way. I made her a fan a while ago, but this was her first time seeing him in person. She LOVED him, but honestly, what's not to love?!) and then asked him if he minded taking one with me. He put his arm around me, and was all cuddly, and I found myself clutching his backpack because it just HAD to be in the way. He signed my friend's AIDA CD, and some stuff for AG and his friend. We all thanked him, and he went inside. Nothing spectacularly out-of-the-ordinary, but it was fun, and I was really proud of myself for stayed semi-composed.
When we got into the theater and got our seats I decided to take a trip over to the souvenier kiosk and ask if they had any Civilian flyers they were willing to fork over. The guy working there was really sweet - he had actually given me some suggestions on where/when to meet Adam once before. He looked around down there, but couldn't find any more. He said that they'd been putting one in everyone's bags when they bought stuff, so they ran out. He asked the girl who was working with him, who said they might be upstairs. He offered to take me upstairs with him to see if there were any up there, but there weren't. We went back downstairs, and he directed me to someone who apparently "handles all of Adam's stuff" at the theatre - promoting his music and such. She told me they were all out. I went back and told the guy what she said, thanking him for his help anyway. He was like "I'll tell you what. Come back over here after the show. I'll go look around, and if I find any more I'll hook you up with as many as you want after the show." I stopped after the show to buy another t-shirt, and the guy was like "Hey. Hold on one second" and disappeared into a little room behind the counter. He came out with a flyer, telling me that it was the last one and they'd actually had it pinned up on the wall wherever "back there" is, but that I could have it if I wanted. I thanked him like 6 times... so I now possess the Palace Theater's LAST Civilian flyer AND I was one of the first members of the general public to get a release date, straight from Adam himself. I'm a happy gal.
