Yup, dark hair, dark eyes, etc. Dark colors or some really bright, rich ones usually work... but I *am* a stereotypical poor college student. You can find almost anything in New York City, though... if you look hard enough. Rock it, Adam! (whooo hoo!!!!)
People tell me I look a little bit like Idina, actually.

And, speak of the devil... Chloe has a point - it is great that they're so supportive of someone they like, and Idina's fan base is obviously MUCH more than squealing little girls. They're just the most vocal, and really overpower the sane (for lack of a better term) fan community. It's a shame, really... and I wish that people would just take it with a grain of salt knowing that it (mostly) comes with the territory of being that age, but I guess it's much easier said than done.

They killed your avatar, QM? Rock it, Adam! (whooo hoo!!!!)

QM, haven't been to the Gershwin or looked at all the threads, but I'll take your word for it. Too bad things have gotten so out of hand.

That was fast, if the mods have already gotten to QM's avatar.

By the way, I decided to drop my avatar because it was giving me this weird feeling of having a masculine identity. Maybe I'll just go without one for a while.

ETA - Chloe... did I ever tell you about the time I had a picture of Raul in The Normal Heart as my avatar? I got more than a few PM's asking if that was me, and saying that I was cute. Rock it, Adam! (whooo hoo!!!!)

They killed it!!!!!! NOOOOOOOOO! And they didn't even tell me Rock it, Adam! (whooo hoo!!!!) It was there 2 minutes ago.

Chloe, bring back Elton!!! I discussed avatars with friends this weekend. The general assumption is if you have a boy/man as your avatar you're female or gay, so Elton will be fine, Chloe Rock it, Adam! (whooo hoo!!!!)

That's funny, Emcee. I guess that was before he became a little more well-known. Nobody PMed me about it, but it just gave me a weird feeling every time it scrolled by.

Having just read the fanfics and having sex on the brain, I'm not sure I agree with that interpretation you guys have insinuated about "Just Here." (But then I'm so pure-minded!) I took it for being more metaphorical than literal. However, "Cellophane Sun" seems to be very obviously about sex, in a kind of sweet way, but nobody else has mentioned it.

It was over the summer... shortly before a few of us got into some trouble regarding Raul... and being fans. *grumbles* I was mildly entertained, though. I'd just be like "no.... that's Raul Esparza. I'm a girl. But, yes. He is cute." And I'd get silly, apologetic responses. Rock it, Adam! (whooo hoo!!!!)

Cellophane Sun's got that line "get between, get behind. Take your time, I'll blow your mind..." line that we found some insinuation in after my little "Just Here..." revelation. According to the person who shared said information with me (she can out herself if she wants to...) Adam has admitted to the "Just Here..." theory. I never picked up on that myself... I'm way too naive and pure-minded. I thought it was basically about relationships and personalities... if only a bit... cryptic and metaphorical.

Thanks, QM, maybe I'll put up a different Elton pic and see how I feel.

Emcee, what did Adam actually say, if you can post that here?

Anyway, the way I read Cellophane is that the woman in the song is working very hard all alone most of the time and is still lost in her own world at the end of the day when he gets home, so he wants to give her the sexual reins, so to speak, and let her take her time with it. After which he'll "blow her mind," of course. The chorus ("Morning is a dream, a break in the night, Life is but a scene, a moment in time") implies to me that they were awake all night and are in a sort of dreamy, philosophical post-coital state in the morning. Am I out of my mind?

i can't help for cheap places in the city but if you want to take a field trip to jersey for a day jersey gardens in elizabeth is great. you can definitely spend a whole day there. some of it are really good prices and some that's a little more but generally nothing very expensive and there are always great finds.

DevilWind: Look to the bar on the left side of the screen. Find 'who's online'. Click on it. Look for Rob's name, he's the owner of the site. Click 'send private message' and ask your question. He'll be able to tell you if the problem was due to a technical error, or deletion, or something else. Updated On: 1/11/05 at 07:33 PM

Chloe - even if you are wrong, that's a WONDERFUL description. I really wish Adam had done for the MP songs what he did with the Civilian ones. And, as for "Just Here..." word has it that there was a TON of speculation on the old sh-k-boom message board, and that someone asked Adam after a gig. For the sake of disrection, though, guys, I'm not going to say exactly what he admitted to.

Devil - PM Rob or Craig- just search and find a post of one of theirs.

ETA - zippy.... I LOVE Century 21 - more for the adventure that it is, though. Rock it, Adam! (whooo hoo!!!!) And Alix - there's actually an outdoor outlet mall (much like an outdoor version of Jersey Gardens) near where I live. Love that place, though. Rock it, Adam! (whooo hoo!!!!)

Thanks, Emcee. Rock it, Adam! (whooo hoo!!!!) It would be nice if Adam wrote about MP too. Maybe the fact that they are almost all love songs keeps him from explaining more. I have a theory about "The One Who Got Away," too, but it's just a wild guess, so I won't write it here. PM me if you want to know - it's nothing racy or wild, just a theory about who he was writing about.
