I think the Cabaret closing is the one I posted - it's sweet. Nice that they're friends, and I have the impression Adam is friends with Norbert Leo Butz too. Broadway is a small world.

I'm such a geek, I literally think that's the most adorable thing ever.

I love that the small world thing carries over to people on our end, too. A friend and I ran into Lisa Brescia in a coffee shop a bit ago, and she asked how we knew each other. It was actually from this board, but we didn't want to say that. We just looked at each other and laughed, and he said just from "around." She said something about how great it is that there's such a tightly knit community of us who really support Broadway, and that she loves that we're all so close. I felt so special!

Lastnight I finally got to see the "Under Pressure" video perfectly clear, and WOW. Adam...
But did that mean the Sh-k-boom Room doesn't do that anymore, since it was the closing night?
And do you think the bass player in the background is the same bass player from Adam's current band?

I still haven't seen that video with actual motion, just the sound with still frames. Maybe soon at work...

Have there been any Sh-K-Boom Room performances lately? Emcee probably knows about that.

Yeah, that's how it had always worked for me, but just lastnight it was fine for some reason.
Adam is having such a fun time and is so rhythmic! And of course, the pants!
In that referrence to NotThatGirl's fanfiction that ponine has in her signiture, is that about the sparkly pants?, 'cause they seriously do look like they've been stolen from one of us!
When they forget the words and when Michael yanks the pants are the best parts! I believe that was right after Adam left Aida in June '03, the second time I saw him in it.

Nope, worse than ever. I guess the video used up it's good behavior for a while. I believe you're right that those are the pants NTG was thinking of when she wrote that - and I think the comment came right from this thread, Nia maybe.

The Sh-k-Boom room is basically (I *think this is right) a series of concerts they do once a year, or a couple of times. This particular one that you saw the video for was the Summer Concert Series, and that was the last one, which is why it's "Closing Night." They haven't done one of those gigs in a while, with a lot of artists all getting together, but obviously Sh-k-Boom has arranged all of Adam's Civilian gigs. That video, though.... never ever ever fails to crack me up. I love when Michael pulls Adam's pants. That video was taken in either July or August of '03, right after Adam left AIDA, so yeah, addict, you're right. I almost went to that.

And gah. I looooove Lisa Brescia. I got all warm and fuzzy when she said that.

OKAY, several questions...

Errr...do you think Lisa is related to Kenny Brescia? I saw his name in the fine print of Civilian.

And that bassman in the video--think he’s Winston from Adam‘s band?

Oh and I've always wondered about this too. Do you think "Book of Endings" was recorded during Adam's Cabaret run? In that song, his voice really sounds...Cabaret-ish.
I LOve how he sings "Yeah I'll only make you cry!!"

addict - if Kenny Brescia ever did the RENT band, then yes. Lisa's ex husband played with RENT for a very long time.

I don't think Book of Endings relates to any one period, really.
