I read that Lucie Arnaz starts May 29. Maybe I'm wrong, but I remember thinking, "Too bad, I'll miss her by a week" because I'm seeing it on May 21.
I think all of us die-hard DRS fans have to do our part to keep this show alive after July. Greg would especially want this, being that he has been with the show practically since its conception.
I love this show!
Okay, I compromised with myself. No way could I buy a full price DRS ticket two Sundays in a row...but Norbert AND Jonathan's last...I can't be all the way in the back. So I got front row mezz center with a discount code.
I need to calm down. I mean it's May...maybe I could see it for Laura's last show and Rachel's last show...should be a month apart or so and then another month till Norbert and Jonathan's. One DRS per month. Think I'll succeed at that goal?
Once a month...that's MY goal. (Even though I have tickets now for THREE Sundays in July!)
It must be nice to be SO RICH!!!!!!!!!!
I'm not RICH...I just have my priorities straight!!!!!
I'm not rich! I just spend money...oddly for a teenager. I've worn the same winter jacket for 5 years, have the same bookbag for 3, go shopping as rarely as humanly possible, have...3(?) pairs of shoes, rarely go to the movies, rent movies for free from the library, saved a ****load of money on textbooks, etc.
But I mean, I just realized today that if I do get a summer internship in the city, I'll most likely be commuting. It's just too expensive considering I *can* commute. But my mom and I agree I should have some time to be on my own before the pressure of school starts, so maybe I'll get summer housing for 4 weeks or something.
But when it comes down to it...I'd rather be able to get good seats for last shows and see an amazing night of Rent then be able to live in the city all summer. (not that those even begin to cover the summer cost but just a point)
ETA: That was directed to Penny not me right Mamie now that I look back? Oops. I'll defend myself anyway.
Miss Pennywise, where are your tickets for the 16th and 23rd? I'm next to Mamie by coincedence on the 23rd!
I can't actually go on the 23rd because I'll be away. (I bought the tix before my travel plans were finalized.)
The tix for the 16th will also go to someone else, most likely. (But I'm not sure yet. It's a long story.)
So, in reality, I am just going on July 9th (and May 21). Got to figure out a way to go in June! It's a special birthday month for some DRS fans
I'm trying so hard to stay awake for Annie - but I just don't think I can make it.
WRQ - do you think you'll be here to let her know if she shows up? I'm not sure she'll know to check that thread.
I don't know Mamie. It's Friday night, I think I may be going to sleep shortly...
Hahaha me go to bed this early on a Friday night? That's funny.
I'm sure I'll be up when she wakes up, as long as she comes online.
ETA: 2 minutes later, she's up! And hopefully "here." She's online, but not answering my IMs.
I'll buy tickets to both shows NP. I really am not one to spend $100+ for a seat two times in one week unless its worth it. This is worth it. However, if they both extend or anything, is there anyway to change the dates or get a refund?

I have just read that maybe Brian Darcy James would take over the role from Norbert!
I would kill to see the show or to listen to the music with him. Wouldn't you Kerrie?
I was thinking,James Naughton would be a grand Andre...bit old maybe...
he looks good. how old?
Actually if you go back to one of those old casting calls, 'Andre' is described as being somewhat older than Greg. We're just used to that youngster playing the part! (The gray hair helps with the illusion).
I believe he's about 60, he played Billy Flynn in Chicago for a bit too.
Yes - James Naughton is still a little long in the tooth to be playing Andre. I can't see him carrying Freddie or Muriel around. Can you?
Well...maybe they could give him a walker...
It would add a whole new dimension to the more we dance...
Well...Dennis didn't carry Norbert either.
The first musical I ever saw James Naughton is was also the first musical I ever saw Joanna in: I Love My Wife. They played a married couple. It's funny that BC thought of him for the role of André, isn't it?
He still looks great...and he has a fabulous voice.
Good idea, Blu!
I FINISHED TAKING THE SATs!!!!!!
then, finals in june, and then i'll have time to visit this board a lot again!!! :)
Congrats, Jamie. My cousin just did as well. I hope you did well!

The cam's working just fine.
I'm sure you did great Jamie, and it will be fun to have you around more often.
And the headliner at the Comedy club last night, can I say, Anthony Rapp much.
