Elphie, it doesn't look like I'll be able to go, which means I've only seen it once. My mom is all about "that's a waste of money." Interlude And there are a few, well three, other things I really want to see (is slightly ashamed) that I haven't seen at all yet, including Seascape which is closing very soon too.

However...my friend's birthday is on New Year's Eve and she really wants us to go to the city that night, but it's going to be crazy plus the fact that I doubt my parents would let me be in the city on NYE so we might go Friday night instead. If only I could convince my friends to come see Chitty...Maybe I can abandon them and go? I would totally do it! hmmm....*hatches a plan* I still have hope! (however dim it may be) working on it...

Oh, I hope you work it out so you can go again, Alix! I still feel bad. Interlude

Why exactly would going to see Chitty make you gay? This is new to me. *is confused*

but we ended up seeing Chita...it was fab.

What?! I went to the box office and asked specifically if they would be doing student tickets through the end of the run and she told me they would be. They better not pull it as some last-ditch effort to make more money or something ridiculous like that.

Oooo, we can do a protest! Do a sit-in or something, because the mean producers are daring to turn against the fans. That'll get some attention- hopefully from a certain leading man. Considering how many times I've seen it, it definitely adds up to a full price ticket, so I don't see what the big deal is. Grrr. Now that I'm making the trip specifically to see it, I can't just not go, but I'd hate to pay full price.

*fingers crossed for Emcee at last show*

If you can catch the gay, you already had it to begin with and the experience just activated it. Interlude I'll be in the city Friday night, but I'm thinking I may want to see Sweeny, so we hopefully we can meet up anyway!

My dad's agreed to go with me to see Company. Interlude Except we can't be there opening night anymore, he has a meeting that day that's been planned for months, so we'll probably be there that Friday instead. I hope I can still see some of y'all while we're out there!

Oh, you know that facial recognition site? I did a picture of Raul and a bunch of weird people came up, including Eminem, Elton John, Ronald Reagan and John Kerry. Um, okay, could they possibly be more polar opposite?

haha, I put his picture in there once, and I got random people, too. Nobody remotely attractive.

I don't think I can go to closing, but I think I CAN go the night before. My mom doesn't want me coming home via Port Authority alone at night, but no one from home wants to come with me -- but she ALSO doesn't want me in Times Square on New Years' Eve. I guess I could try the matinee on Friday... I don't know.

Hmm...I'm pretty sure I wanna go back to Newsical friday night Em, it's downtown at 8:15.

I gotta drive home tonight from WV where I am now but I think I'm taking tomorrow to relax and not be in my car, maybe see Producers movie at night. So that should make me refreshed for Friday...

I'd rather park downtown where it's easier to park, but I could probably drop you off in Times square and then well either pick you up or you can take the subway to me, we can figure out times. If you could get to me somehow that'd be nice but if not I could prob come get you and drop you off...so if you wanna do that and not hafta worry about Port Authority...let me know.

((And I never got back to the rent movie..we couldn't find the theatre...sadness)

Oh, it's ok. It's silly to drive North to pick me up to go South. But thanks.

If they pull that sh*t with the rush, I will eat them.

No more Chitty rush, guys. EVER! The show is selling like crazy so I think they figure if they can get full price then why not sell them all for full price.

I'm in the city now. I just got back from the box office. I had planned to see the show twice today but the matinee is completely sold out. They did set up a cancellation line, though. I ended up just buying a full price ticket for tonight's show. It was the last seat they had. It's in the back of the orch. But that's okay. I plan to move up.

I also got a ticket for tomorrow night which is better. Row A. And then I already have a ticket for closing.

Grr. The totally ruined my plans with this whole "no rush" things. Oh well. I least I'll be seeing it a few more times before closing. I don't think I will stop Raul before any of the shows. So I hope I can catch him after a show sometime this week.

Anyway, I'm here. I need to unpack!

Sh*t.

I think I'm going to buy a ticket to the closing now, especially since I have internet access and discount codes available now and I won't this weekend. I guess it's better than missing out completely after making the trek up there and everything.

Bumping because I'm going to see Pride and Prejudice and I know ang will be happy, even though she's not on! Interlude

That's sad about the rush, but at least they are selling out, finally! Too bad it's several months too late. Interlude

It's wonderful when you can splurge money. Interlude

I bought three cast recordings today out of my Christmas money--Chitty, ttB, and Ragtime. And there's about $72 left to spare, which will go towards buying two t-shirts and a cap from broadwaynewyork.com. I have never felt so aliiiiiiive. Interlude

I'm finishing up Chitty. Much to my suprise, I like it a whole lot. It's so bouncy and cute, and makes me feel like I'm five again!

But the Childcatcher...he creeps me out. "Chiiiiiildren."

Next is Ragtime, then ttB.

I guess we have to get tickets now. Pm to works things out because i am really looking foward to going!

So it seems that a few of you/us will be seeing a show Friday night. I never made it to Rent movie in DC and I'm a bum and I wanna see it one more time on the big screen...(if not twice). It's playing at United Artists Union Square Stadium 14 at 3:20 Friday...would anyone be interesting in joining me before we go off to separate shows? Posted more info I got about Rent on the big screen in the city on the main board.

Okay, Em, just wanted to make sure it works out for you--hopefully you still plan on going even w/ no rush b/c I know how much Raul and Chitty mean to you and basically I was just offering b/c you mentioned being alone at Port Authority and basically if there's something I can do to help you get there or you won't be able to go otherwise, then just let me know. Hopefully that won't be the case Interlude

And I'm sorry about Chitty rush guys. I mean it's nice they're selling out but you guys have given so much money to the Producers, you certainly deserve cheaper tickes now. Interlude

Good point Interlude Still nice to say bye though.

Which leads me to...hmm...okay, god I am obsessed, but I'm going to see Rent on Friday and if nothing else on the 5th(assuming it doesn't play longer at amc if it is indeed playing there) so then I will know when the last time I see it in theatres will be. That would be 7 times, that's how many I saw Phantom...I think I'm proud of myself, I figured Rent would be way more...yaay for me and saving a teeny bit of money.

So, I didn't actually see Pride and Prejudice today. It didn't work out. Interlude But, we did see Narnia, which was very good! I'd never really thought about the Christian themes before, but they are definitely there!

Cool Elphie--hope you catch P&P, it's a great story and I suppose very good movie but after watching the Colin Firth miniseries, nothing can compare
