My wife was in a funk as her ***hole boss was starting up on her again
I suggested seeing a totally piece of fluff movie. We saw the Pink Panther & it was funny & was just the tonic needed to cheer her up . Funny & totally mindless
While no one can replace Peter Sellers, Steve Martin was a close second
Yes I was thinking about that, too.
Peter Sellers was amazing and I am still a little unsure of seeing the Pink Panther.

Better than Ted Waas and Roberto Benininininingni?
Wow! Over three posts on this thread and no one has mentioned Cheno!
Anyone was better than they were but Martin was really quite good
I kind of miss the character Kato & Lom was much better than Kline as Dreyfuss but what you gonna do
Chenowith had a very minor part so that is why she was not mentioned
In my house, you're basically not part of the family if the original Pink Panther movies aren't emroidered into your mind. I was expecting a bit more out of the revival, but I did really like it. I can only imagine Jean Reno and Steve Martin behind the scenes together, must have been hilarious!
But really, what was the need for Beyonce Knowles? The girl can't act. She sounded like she was reading the lines right off the paper, she had the same face on the entire film and just- guh! She frustrated me a bit.
Otherwise I found the movie really funny. Not as good as the originals, but Steve Martin but on a great, great performance.

After this and Goldmember I shudder to think how bad she will be in Dreamgirls.

Exactly popcultureboy. That is something I know I am going to force myself to see, but also something I know I'm not going to enjoy.
I have no idea why they bothered.
Have all the Peter Sellers' versions gone missing? There are so many bad remakes of movies happening these days and movies that are not that old, where a remake should be needed. I would be interested in knowing how many remakes have lived up to or surpassed the original film, which could probably be purchased on DVD from Amazon.com.
I enjoyed the remake of "Here Comes Mister Jordan" which became "Heaven Can Wait" and probably a few more but not very many.
