nope, mel b left a little while ago... a couple of months i think
d'monroe (benny) - i didn't really like his benny. played it way too conservatively too. and his voice was weird
merle dandridge (joanne) - NO ONE IS BETTER THAN FREDI. but she was good. i liked her tango
justin johnson (angel) - there is only one wilson. the end.
krystal l washington (mimi) - she was REALLY good. hit all the notes in out tonight. and her goodbye love was amazing
kelly karbacz (maureen) - well, you all know i'm an idina fan, so i'm just not going here. but she had blonde hair, not brown. weirdness...
mayumi ando (alexi darling) - the voicemails dont do too much for me on the CR, but i thouroughly enjoyed them with her.

Yeah, Krystal is Mimi untill sometime in January, as Jeremy is also leaving in January. Karmine is a stand by, but the very first time I saw Rent on Broadway (this past July) Karmine was Maureen. Shes adoreable.

I think Karmine's the standby. Not sure though. Didn't like Karmine much. She was like Reba McEntire. Out Tonight was a yodling warm-up. "Ou-hoooot to-ny-it"
Som - I've got good feelings about Rosario. She was so hardworking and professional on Josie ATPC, and she's got the chops. I've never heard her sing (aside from backup on Josie ATPC) though. In terms of acting, I'm all for her as Mimi. In fact, her casting reinstilled my excitement in the movie. I think her Mimi's gonna be tougher than you'd expect. Definitely more raw ass-kicking live DRV than wimpy country crooner like Karmine. I'm excited.

That's how I feel about Karmine. People rave, but I didn't really love her.

your very welcome star2b. every time i see a show i do a major review of each character and each song, just for myself, and this one was like 6 pages long. haha.
i was gonna do the pirates theme for my gymnastics floor routine music, but while i was out sick someone already claimed it. i was SO mad. now i'm doing this cool techno mix of blue that i found (remember that song?). brings back serious middle school memories.

I think I just really liked Karmine because of her stagedoor presence. Shes such a warm-hearted person. And her voice is insane with Merle.
