don't know her really (but somewhere my mind tells me I've heard her and liked her....)
Ditto, Spiderdj. Her "At Last" set the bar.
I concur!

at last...
one of my faves..
would love to cover it.
along with "hard times" (dr. buzzard...GREAT ALBUM!)
Latifah covered that one her standards disc that just came out (with mixed reviews)
Oh I'm sure you've heard her..
At last, my love has finally come along..
it's soo sultery.. I love that song.. The Celine Dion remake was just upsetting

celine dion - yeah that would be upsetting..
after Titanic - i could live forever and never hear her voice again... sorry
she has an amazing instrument but i just got too saturated with her sound that year...
EW! Celine Dion did a remake? EW! And I listened to samples of Queen Latifah's cd at Barnes and Noble and really liked it.
Celine Dion is just upsetting.
Oh behalf of all of Canada, I'm sorry we stuck her on you. (But not that sorry. Blame Canada, indeed.)
Fredi, did you know that before the casting was announced, there was some speculation about Queen Latifah playing Joanne in the movie? Dunno how I feel about that. I think she's got the right attitude and acting chops, but her voice isn't quite Joanne material. (Even though I adore Latifah.)
Celine Dion frightens me for some reason, but yes, her voice is amazing.
**admits with great reservation**
I used to like Celine but dang I got tired of her..
I lov Latifah!

no i didn't know that - but that would have just been pure stunt casting... (you can't tell me she looks that much younger than me...she's NOT that much younger than me...)
besides - the only movie I'm interested in her doing is MINE!!
she's got the script.... only time will tell. - but I wrote her a GREAT role - any blacktress would kill for it!
She better take it, if she knows what's good for her
Blacktress? Wow, I have never heard of that term before. But, the Queen will be great in any role. Oh, and if you are reading this Queen (Ms. Latifah, if you're nasty), DO FREDI'S MOVIE. Thank you!
Awesome! Well, then it's a win-win situation for her, you and Traci Thoms!
(And no, she does not look that much younger than you, I don't think, but I haven't seen any recent photos of you when you aren't Rafiki, and I think it's safe to say I shouldn't judge your current look based on that. )

the good news is - it's already been requested by another big hollywood blacktress...
but I wrote it for QL so I'm stalling as long as I can before I release it again....
Whats the movie about? Or is it best not to say?
Okay obviously you can't tell us who this big hollywood blackstress is, but can you tell us if this lady has any singing/bway experience?

can't talk plots here (see earlier posts)
but I'll say it's a suspense thriller (a la ENEMY OF THE STATE) and she's the "Will Smithesque" lead in this one...
ah....to judge one's look when they are dressed as an ape.
and fredi, i HOPE queen latifah says yes!
if you need some of us to go start a riot to convince her, i'm sure there are a bunch of us who will.
Okay, scratch me question then. I don't imagine this to be a musical-thriller.
Hey Fredi, ever consider filming in Vancouver?
I have my pitchfork and torch ready. When do we leave?
That's so cool! There are too few female parts of that type.
I have my cow. Let's go.

Thats cool, I wouldn't expect plots to be revealed.. to high a chance to get stolen..
Ooo I love me a good suspense thriller...
