Am I the only one who is going to love this movie? It seems as if everybody I know is calling it 'A bad version of Garden State'.

It's going to be awesome.
And Garden State was the bad version of Garden State.
I'm really looking forward to it. There was a really great, long feature about Gondry in the Times that I read online yesterday. At this hour, I can't recall where it was exactly, but there's a gallery in Soho featuring some of his art, that sounds like an interesting accompaniment to the film.

i have a question about the title... on imdb the title is in french and translates to The Science of Dreams... any reason for the switch?
I can't wait to see this - I am obsessed with Gael Garcia Bernal

Why Garden State? The comparison I've been hearing is much more obvious- Gondry's previous romantic head trip, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. (Though that movie had the benefit of a Charlie Kaufman screenplay.) This movie looks wonderful in theory, but I've heard the ending is horrid. We'll see.
And how is GARDEN STATE bad? It's a cute little movie - it didn't try to be anything else.
THE LIBERTINE is brilliant, yet GARDEN STATE is bad? Kay.

Who the heck said The Libertine is brilliant?
Anyway, back to Gondry.
The same person that basically said GARDEN STATE was bad....who else would it apply to?
Cruel.

*shrug* This thread isn't about Garden State, though. So you think he has bad taste in movies. Take it up in PMs.
Though I guess since no one's seen this movie yet there isn't going to be much talk about it...

I thought The Libertine was horrendous! Garden State was very good. I can watch Peter Sarsgaard in anything. I think Natalie Portman was a lot better in GS than she was in Closer.
