There's another Georgy deep inside.
Bring out all the love you hide,
And, oh, what a change there'll be!
The world will see
A new Georgy Girl!

I love this Seekers-like, Peppermint Rainbow hit!
Will You Be Staying After Sunday
Georgy Girl was the first single (45 rpm) I ever bought. I was five years old and saved my allowance up. I bought this instead of candy.
Today, it IS "candy" for me. I absolutely love this song.
Jim Dale told me a great story about Georgy Girl when I interviewed him during Threepenny Opera.
He also has the same story on his website and it goes like this:
A few years ago I walked into an old junk shop and found my first big hit song "Be My Girl" in a collection of ancient 78rpm pop records.
Me: "Wow, look at this, how much is it?"
Owner: "Four pence, same as all the others" (which is about ten cents in America)
Me: "Four pence? For a hit record by Jim Dale?"
Owner: "Who?"
Me: "Jim Dale, it's a collectors item this is. You can't sell it for four pence. It's worth a good four Pounds of anybody's money."
Owner: "OK, four Pounds then."
Me: "That's more like it." (Handing him four crisp one pound notes in exchange for his moth eaten old record).
Motto: "Never let yourself be sold cheap."
Great story. Great song. Great actor.
I, too, have too often found myself "window shopping but never stopping to buy..."
So shed those dowdy feathers and FLY!

Great song! The sixties looked like so much fun.
