This trailer has been a Rorschach test. Everybody I know has a different opinion on it. I'm in more of the negative camp but I was never interested in seeing a movie about Facebook despite Aaron Sorkin writing the screenplay and David Fincher directing. I will say I am a bit more interested to see how it works. Just hope the movie itself is better than the trailer that makes 'Harvard, 2003' come off like The Skulls, but as I said before some people think it's brilliant. Also, I thought it was pretty established opinion that Mark Zuckerberg is a major jerk and it seems the trailer is selling that, even though Jesse Eisenberg himself will finally be playing against the type.

The trailer just comes off as incredibly pretentious. And I agree, I'm not particularly interested in watching a movie about facebook, especially after learning that Aaron Sorkin wasn't familiar with it when he signed on to adapt the book and created a facebook account to see how it worked.
I just hope the actual movie lives up to the hype.

My gut reaction to the trailer was a wholehearted , "Meh.". Looks like something I wouldn't watch over a Ron Popiell infomercial on late night cable.

I think the trailer looks great. If you asked me about 6 months ago, I would say that I thought this movie was a joke. But, the screenplay's been floating around for a while and I must say that it's pretty damn good. That shouldn't be too hard to believe, though, as it's Aaron Sorkin. But still, it's impressive that he managed to take one of the most unlikely story subjects and turn it into something pretty compelling, complete with Sorkinesque snappy dialogue. The first scene alone is incredibly well written and perfectly sets up the story.

How it'll all be executed on screen is another matter. But I'm looking forward to it.
