The Stop Obama Bus

Tales from "Real America" I guess you'd say. I live in a sleepy, affluent part of Illinois. It is HEAVILY Republican- in fact, they have only elected three democrats to county offices ever. Illinois is going to go Obama, My county is going to go McCain, and yet they decided to bring the "Stop Obama Tour" here- Just to throw red meat to the faithful I guess. I'm posting just cause I wondered- has there ever been a campaign like this? Not in favor of someone, just against someone. I don't recall many "No Bush!" rallies in either 2000 or 2004- but if you can, please refresh my memory.

CRYSTAL LAKE – As the election approaches, the fevered pitch of over-the-top political banter ramps up.

Scores rallied in the parking lot of the make-shift Republican Party headquarters on Route 14 as a bus labeled "The Stop Obama Tour" rolled in. The bus is heading east and making stops in a number of towns. Tuesday the bus stopped in Springfield and Crystal Lake.

One of the first off the bus was Janet Russo, from Sacramento, Calif., who held up the sign "Great Community Organizers," showing the faces of Lenin, Mao and Barack Obama.

Mark Williams said he was collecting resumes of people who would like to be president. He estimated that about 300 million people in the United States were more qualified than Obama.

There's plenty more

Nothing new. A quick search on google shows many, many anti-Bush rallies and events preceding the last presidential election.
