The first album was fresh, new and original. It was, quite literally, the soundtrack to my summer of 2003.
The second was an awful parody with no originality. It will not be the soundtrack to this summer...

i agree, Jake, but i do love 12:51 and Reptilia. otherwise, that C.D. is pretty much crap. what's your favorite song on the first CD? and who's your favorite stroke?
and rob, your post confused me. :)

Julian Casablancas is my drunken messiah. Albert is fun at bars.
Room on Fire, while containing clunkers, redeems itself with the first four tracks, "Under Control," and "I Can't Win." For some awesome Strokes sound, get your hands on the infamous Brownies and Arlene Grocery bootlegs.
Least favorite Stroke, Nick, for the record.

Nah, but we all frequent the same East Village bars and concert venues.

Posted: 4/12/04 at 10:14pmI can not pick. I love them all. It is easier to pick my favorite girl in the White Stripes (Meg) and my favorite boy in the White Stripes (Jack!).

Posted: 4/13/04 at 2:53pmThe Strokes and The White Stripes are good fun, but pale in comparison to their precedents: Ramones, Television, New York Dolls, Heartbreakers....

Of course Borstalboy, and don't forget the grandaddy of them all The Velvet Underground. And what would we do without The Stooges?
Too bad it was all before my time, alas.

Posted: 4/13/04 at 3:27pmI would agree about The Strokes but I think the White Stripes are as good in their own way as the antecedents you mention, BB.
