You gotta love a guy who goes from the Chicago "thea-tah" to being maybe the one and only director in America who genuinely aspires to be a B-movie director. And now, with RETURN OF THE RE-ANIMATOR in the works, it is time to come to praise this one of a kind artist whose grubby, gruesome and hilarious movies are true originals:

So far I've only seen the Re-Animator trilogy, From Beyond, and Dagon, and I've loved every one of them. They can be campy and humorous at time, but they really are great.
A fabulous quote from Re-Animator (and quite a scene): "I must say, Dr. Hill, I'm VERY disappointed in you. You steal the secret of life and death, and here you are trysting with a bubble-headed co-ed. You're not even a second-rate scientist."
